The film follows an overnight train whose passengers begin exchanging seats for reasons they cannot explain. At first, the arrangement seems whimsical, yet each new view exposes a private regret. The director avoids dramatic confessions, allowing gestures and carefully framed landscapes to carry emotional weight. Although the central mystery is never fully solved, its uncertainty feels deliberate rather than frustrating. A retired ticket inspector, whose silence initially appears cold, gradually becomes the film's most generous observer. When a storm delays the train, strangers share food, but nobody is required to explain their kindness. That restraint gives the story credibility, since mutual care rarely arrives with a polished speech. Some scenes linger too long, especially when repeated reflections begin to announce meanings already made clear. Still, the patient pacing rewards viewers who notice how empty seats alter the carriage's mood. By dawn, the exchanged places matter less than the permission passengers have given one another to change.
