Daily Dictation
Practise English every day with a free daily dictation: a new short listening exercise at each level, A1 to C1. Listen, type what you hear and see every mistake explained.
Daily English listening practice
Every day there is a new English dictation at each level, from A1 to C1. Listen to a short text in natural English, type each sentence you hear and see every mistake explained. A session takes about 10 minutes, so it fits into any day.
Daily dictation trains your ear and your spelling together. A little English listening every day works better than a long session once a week: you meet the same weak forms, linked words and contractions again and again, until you catch them without thinking.
How can I practise English listening every day?
Come back to this page once a day and do today’s dictation; it takes about 10 minutes. If you are signed in and have taken the level test, the daily dictation matches your level. Every level, from A1 to C1, also gets a new dictation of its own each day.
Is dictation good for improving English listening?
Yes. Writing down what you hear makes you notice every word, including the small ones that slip past when you only listen. Comparing your answer with the text shows exactly which sounds you still need to work on.
Is the daily English dictation free?
Yes. Every daily dictation is free, and you can start without an account. A free account saves your results and matches the daily dictation to your level.
